Pastor Eric Scott Accepts Marriage and Family Pastor Role
We’re excited to announce that Pastor Eric Scott, our current Care and Discipleship Pastor, will step into the role of Family and Marriage Pastor at Worship Center! He officially began his role at the start of this week (December 11).
Last month, we announced that Marriage and Family Pastor, Brad Aldrich, and Marriage and Family Ministry Assistant, Kate Aldrich, felt led to step down from their roles in order to continue in their growing counseling and coaching ministry. After Brad decided to step out of his position on staff, Eric felt led to consider taking on this pastoral role. After prayer and consideration from Worship Center’s leadership, it was evident that Pastor Eric’s heart for families made him a excellent candidate for this role.
Pastor Eric says, “I look forward to building upon Brad and Kate’s marriage and family ministry at Worship Center. I am also deeply grateful for the opportunity to lead our Pastoral Care Team these past five years. Judy Beiler will serve in this role now as she continues to provide and facilitate care ministry to our congregation with the support of our other pastors.
Many years ago, the call to family ministry came to me from the last two verses of the Old Testament:
“Look, I am sending you the prophet Elijah before the great and dreadful day of the Lord arrives. His preaching will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers. Otherwise, I will come and strike the land with a curse” (Malachi 4:5-6, NLT).
As I read this passage, I caught a glimpse of the heart God has for families. I saw the depth of His desire to build healthy families who know and love His Son, Jesus. So, as I embrace this new role, I hope to come alongside families with support and encouragement to grow healthy families who communicate, serve each other, forgive, and love one another. I would appreciate your prayers as I start this endeavor!”
We’re cheering Brad and Kate on as they look to serve people with their counseling and coaching ministry, and we look forward to where Eric will lead the Marriage and Family Ministry! Click here if you’d like to find out more about what our Marriage and Family ministry has to offer.
