Mission Trip Update To New York City
Two weekends ago, we had an incredible time serving those dealing with homelessness in New York City. Our team of ten partnered with New York School of Urban Ministry for the weekend to provide food, water, clothing, blankets, and other necessities for the less fortunate and to share the love of Jesus both in words and actions.
Over the entire weekend, our team encountered 400+ people facing struggles of homelessness, food insecurity, or both. It was amazing to be able to come alongside and serve them by meeting some of their practical needs, while also being able to take the time to connect with them on a more personal level and share the love of Jesus with them!
A highlight for me was being able to come alongside local churches in Brooklyn during the day on Saturday to help serve a Thanksgiving dinner to less fortunate families in their area.
It painted such an amazing picture of what the Church can do when we partner together to love and serve those in need! It also was a great opportunity for us to engage in conversations with people, as well as pray for those who were willing to receive it.
