Update on Global Partner Tom Eby: A Season of Trust and Gratitude
Just before Thanksgiving, one of our Global Partners, Tom Eby, returned to the U.S. due to the sharp increase in violence in the region where he was serving. While the immediate danger has lessened, ongoing political unrest continues to create instability, making long-term peace uncertain.
Tom has been a Global Partner for the past five years or so, faithfully serving in India and making a lasting impact through For One Life Ministries. However, at the end of 2023, the Indian government reintroduced the Protected Area Permit requirement for foreign nationals entering Manipur, Nagaland, and Mizoram.
This new regulation adds significant restrictions, making it difficult for foreigners to enter these areas. Given these challenges—both the political climate and the uncertainty surrounding peace—Tom has prayerfully made the difficult decision to remain in the U.S. for the foreseeable future and will no longer be a Worship Center Global Partner.

Although this transition is not what he expected, Tom remains confident in God’s plan. He shares, “I believe God’s hand of protection and guidance have been with me and brought me to this point, and I fully trust in Him for what is next in my life.” While he will now be working full-time, he will continue to stay involved with For One Life here in the States and maintain close connections with the India team.
Tom is grateful for the support of his family as he settles back into life in the U.S., but there are still many unknowns. He asks for continued prayer as he seeks God’s direction for this new season and also urges us to continue praying for Manipur and the unrest in the region.
As a church family, let’s stand with Tom in prayer and encouragement. If you see him, take a moment to thank him for his years of faithful service and let him know you’re praying for him. His dedication has impacted many lives, and we are grateful for the work God has done through him.
“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.” Psalm 37:23-24
Tom, we honor your faithfulness and trust that God’s plan for you is still unfolding in ways beyond what we can imagine! Thank you for serving!
