Promised Savior – Wk 4

John 3:16-17 (NLT)

16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

7 REASONS JESUS IS THE PROMISE OF HOPE:

1. Jesus was born as God’s undeniable proof of his unfailing love.

2. Jesus was born because God was unwilling to leave his world so damaged by sin.

3. Jesus was born because religion will not save us.

4. Jesus was born to Mary and Joseph because God works in unexpected ways and through unexpected people.

Luke 2:1-7 (NLT)

1 At that time the Roman emperor, Augustus, decreed that a census should be taken throughout the Roman Empire. (This was the first census taken when Quirinius was governor of Syria.) All returned to their own ancestral towns to register for this census. And because Joseph was a descendant of King David, he had to go to Bethlehem in Judea, David’s ancient home. He traveled there from the village of Nazareth in Galilee. He took with him Mary, to whom he was engaged, who was now expecting a child.

And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born. She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them.

5. Jesus was born to prove that nothing can limit or stop God’s enthusiasm to seek and save those who are lost.

6. Jesus was born to heal the brokenhearted.

7. Jesus was born because God never gave up on you.

Believing in Jesus is a second yes.

COMMUNITY GROUP MEETING OUTLINE

Where your faith intersects with real life!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Here are some questions you can choose from to use in your small group or perhaps even in your family gatherings over the holidays!

2023 Reflections:
  • What one event stands out to you that marks this last year – maybe something you are grateful for, something you overcame, or a little of both?
  • What relationships were significant for you this last year?
  • When did you have the most fun?
  • Was there a verse or phrase that was especially meaningful?
  • What fruit of the spirit marked your year? (Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self-Control).
2024 Vision:
  • What brings you joy and how could you do more of it in this next year?
  • Who is one person you could invest in this next year and how could that make a difference in their life?
  • What accomplishment would you like to start or complete this next year?
  • Where is one place you would like to visit?

Blessings on your gatherings as you reflect on the past year and consider what the next year will hold!
