Spiritual Practices – Wk 6
Psalm 27:4-5 (NLT)
4 The one thing I ask of the Lord—
the thing I seek most—
is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
delighting in the Lord’s perfections
and meditating in his Temple.
5 For he will conceal me there when troubles come;
he will hide me in his sanctuary.
He will place me out of reach on a high rock.
1. Withdraw from the noise.
Mark 1:35 (NLT)
35 Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray.
2. Trust the Lord to direct your steps.
Psalm 37:23 (NLT)
23 The Lord directs the steps of the godly.
He delights in every detail of their lives.
3. Stay the course.
COMMUNITY GROUP MEETING OUTLINE
Where your faith intersects with real life!
Consider:
Choose one or two questions for your Group to discuss as time allows.
▶ Read Psalm 27:4-5. When you think of God protecting you when trouble comes, do you think of Him more as hiding you in His sanctuary, putting you on a high rock, or something else? What is it like there? How do you feel?
▶ Read Psalm 37:23. Share a story of how God directed your steps when you needed it.
▶ Read Isaiah 30:15. What keeps people from the strength that comes from quietness and confidence?
Activate:
Spend a moment in silence to consider your response, then share your decision with the Group.
Read Mark 1:35. In the middle of a busy season, Jesus took time to get away to pray and God met Him there with a clarified next step. What would it look like for you to get away to pray?
Prayer:
Thank God for the highs and lift up the lows.
Pray God will guide us all in our Spiritual Disciplines so we can experience His strength and follow His path for our lives.
