Rebecca
Hi there! I provide administrative support to Heather Bivins, our Connections Pastor and Judy Beiler, our Care & Support Pastor. Yes, my job is super fun and I get to meet a lot of amazing people! Previously I’ve served on the Media Team from 2013-2019 and as the Hospitality Assistant for 2020-2021. I’m a 2002 graduate of Geneva College (great school; highly recommend). My husband, Stephen, and I have been members of Worship Center since 2009. Fun fact: we met and got married in six months and he had already been coming to Worship Center for a few years.
I was born into a family with parents who are followers of Jesus. I became a follower of Jesus at the age of four while I was underneath the kitchen table in my home in the suburbs of Philadelphia. (Another fun fact: I love cities.) I cannot remember a time in my life without Jesus, although it has been a process of growing in my relationship with him, and understanding that the gospel isn’t just something you need once, but every day!
I was born in the Philadelphia area and spent my formative years there and also in the suburbs of Chicago. Our family moved to Lancaster County the summer I turned 9 and there was some culture shock for all of us, but over the years Lancaster City has become home.
I’ve always had a love for outreach thanks to my parents and the churches I grew up in, but I never saw myself as someone who would move long-term to another country. That changed in March 2011 when Stephen and I moved to central London, England for two years of church planting and music with Serge (https://serge.org). We also had our first child, Jude, while living in London; our second kiddo, Imogen (IM-oh-jin) was born October 2013. I have a lot of love for other cultures, so if you ever want to tell me about a country you’ve been to, lived in, or want to visit please do!
