Sue
I have been blessed to be raised in a Christ-centered family in Reading, attending 12 years of parochial school. Upon marrying my husband, Bob, and moving to Lancaster County, we were seeking a new church “home.” In 2013, we were led to Worship Center after the sudden, unexpected death of Bob’s son. People from WC reached out to us before we were even part of the “family”! We attended our first service on Christmas Eve 2013 and immediately, joyfully, raised our hands to reaffirm and recommit our lives to Jesus as our Lord and Savior.
After that, we happily served on the Hospitality Team until my husband lost his 12-year battle with Parkinson’s in 2017. We had just celebrated our 22nd anniversary. Our renewed commitment to our faith and Jesus’ very strong presence throughout that journey touched us both indescribably!
I retired from a career in education in December 2010, having spent 17 years as an elementary classroom teacher, followed by 20 years as a building principal. My schools were in the Dover Area School District (York County) and Central York School District.
Since retiring, I have been enjoying time with family, including my amazing 90+-year-old mother, leading a small group, and digging into the Word with friends from both Worship Center and elsewhere. God has blessed me with incredible adventures and “surprises” in recent years. He is amazing!
I feel honored to serve WC in the capacity of Board Member.
